No surprise, I’ve been busy as ever.
Strap in for a read, grab a cuppa. I promise it’s a nice read though.
Brentwood Art Trail in Ingatestone

I was so pleased to be connected with The Lounge in Ingatestone. Julie my host was so supportive and allowed me to takeover the venue and turn it into my personal gallery.

I’m truly honoured that I was asked to paint live in Ingatestone and run the artist tour.
I used the inspiration of the mosaic mural in the town’s high street.

The mosaic was based on a historical look at the people who used the Essex Road, the road that runs through the town.
Therefore i decided that i would put a contemporary spin on that concept. Painting the types of people likely to be seen in this location.
That meant painting a selection of faces. A big undertaking that’s for sure. Especially for a mainly non figurative painter.
My painting for Ingatestone station is now complete and in Ingatestone Station’s waiting room.

Exhibition at Two Tree Gallery

I have also been very fortunate to be able to show a number of smaller works at Two Tree Gallery in Leigh on Sea, as guest artist.

Delighted with those who came to my PV, I was even happier to meet a collector of my work, Their work is something I have admired for sometime and it was so great to put a face to a name.
“Say it with flowers” exhibition at Oxmarket Contemporary Gallery.

What a fabulous event to be part of and in a wonderful venue too. A beautiful gallery in a converted church, tucked away just off Chichester’s high street.
The exhibition was a celebration of all things floral and I was lucky enough to have two paintings selected. My first time seeing xhibition in West Sussex.
Next up we have the High Roding Exhibition.

I’ve been interested in being part of this prestigious exhibition but have never been invited, that is until this year.
As an invitational exhibition supporting charities, High Roding Art exhibition is definitely an aspirational event for artists.
Having never been part of the exhibition, I am very much looking forward to seeing the other works and meeting new artists.
However, there have been a number of rejections and knock backs too. Applications denied and regrets over not applying to other open calls, are just part and parcel of the life of an artist.
As ever though, I have been searching out other opportunities. So watch this space.
Upcoming too is the biannual event of Old Leigh Art Market on bank holiday Monday

Making new work for the vent is always advisable. This time round I’ve created a number of works on boards & canvas paper.

I’ve also been updating my website, a thankless task, but a necessity. Hopefully the most recent iteration is easier to navigate. Bear with me as it evolves further.
I’ve now got a new email address too but really struggling to link all of the tendrils of contacts to it! Oh the joys of technology.
Thank you if you’ve made it to the bottom of this missive!!
Until next time.
